Amsterdam 07th Nov
Date: Saturday 7th November, 2009 | Country: Holland | No Comments »Having driven for a few hours from Hook van Holland to Amsterdam and parked a little out of the city so that Maggie can be safely locked up in a protected car park, it was nice to reach my old knocking ground and see Dave (Davide) who let us stay at his place. The first night had been a long day as we had been up since 5am to get the ferry from Harwich and by the time we arrived in Amsterdam at 7pm we then set off to a Burlesque night, which were a number of saucy performances by the weird Amsterdam community that love to exhibit themselves.

It’s always a bit strange to visit a city you used to live in as a tourist again and I didn’t have any inclination to do much except catch-up with a few friends and sink a few biertjes in the process. Dave, you know that you are more than welcome to stay with me in London for a while, good luck with the jobhunt and if you don’t fancy London, Barca is a nice alternative!
Dave’s flatmate and friend Manuel and his mate Giovanni made us feel welcome too, and the following photo made me laugh while they were lining up as a double act:
Simono and Garfunkello
It was great to catch up with Sotiris my philosophical greek mate, Neville for a dutch lunch and Karen, Peik-Li and Pengchau with their beautiful daughter. After all of that I was ready to leave for a change of scenery.
